Our independently owned and operated bike shop in Juneau, Alaska is hiring for a Professional Bike Mechanic to run and oversee our service department!
We carry TREK and Kona brands primarily. We are looking for a Head Mechanic, full-time, year-round right now.
Cycle Alaska has one mission, to make great memories for our customers! We do everything we can to make that happen while facilitating a great working environment. Cycle Alaska is proud to have been named one of NBDA's America's Best Bike Shops for EIGHT years running!
Cycle Alaska is a full-service retail bike shop that offers sales, rentals, repairs, and accessories year-round for everything from road to mountain to street to touring bikes. And of course we have electric bikes! We operate bike tours and rentals to show off our beautiful town from mid-April through early October. Our rentals range from urban hybrids to full suspension electric mountain bikes. And our rental fleet is at our employees' disposal to explore when available.
Juneau hovers just under 32,000 and offers a variety of outdoor adventures easily accessible. Of course, we have biking and endless amounts of hiking, kayaking, skiing, fishing, and other outdoor activities just a few steps from your home. In the winter, we downhill ski, snowboard, cross country ski, and hike. We get out and enjoy all that winter has to offer!
Sounds cool? We think so too! That's why we live here and love what we do.
The ideal candidate will be confident in their ability to perform repairs on various bicycle brands and types, familiar with all the bicycle components, comfortable interacting with customers, providing outstanding customer experiences, upholding our standards of excellence, and working in a supportive team environment.
We are looking for a hard-working individual who takes pride in their work, has attention to detail, enjoys providing excellent customer service, and loves working on bikes. The right candidate will have the knowledge and skill to diagnose, repair, or adjust all bicycles and their components. As well as assist on the floor with sales, questions, phone calls, and point of sale. Parts ordering, inventory and diagnostics come with the territory.
Seeking applicants with five years of experience as a professional mechanic and some supervisory experience but we are truly looking for the right fit. If you don't have 5 years but are killing it doing what you are doing, we want to chat with you!

Discounts of course, lunch one day a week in winter and often similar in summer.
We have a shop dog, an espresso machine and amazing views.
