The Pony Shop in Evanston IL is hiring a full time mechanic. This is a full-time year round position. Hourly pay 18-25.00/ hour and we have a 401k with matching funds available as well.
Experience: Minimum one full year in a bicycle shop. We will consider candidates who have spent time as a volunteer mechanic, apprentice, or if you've worked a ride share program. We'd prefer knowledge to include but not be limited to familiarity with hydraulic disc brake systems, electronic shifting systems, wheel building, and general mechanical skills. We do have two full time mechanics with more than 20 years experience each so we're happy to help you learn and fill in the gaps to make you comfortable with all aspects of the shop needs. We do not do in house suspension work, the need hasn't been great so we prefer to send that out.
Customer service skills are required as we all write service and sell bikes as well, you will need to be well rounded.
